Strike Out

A last minute agreement averted a threatened strike by Voice Over Actors, members of the Screen Actors Guild. Wil Wheaton has posted his perspective on his blog and has sparked a very interesting set of reactions. [link]

I continue to be gratified by the model of collaboration we are attempting to create with SWEAT.

My thoughts are a bit muddled as I write this. I've exlained our strategy of collaboration to several audiences, and have refined the language each time.

The people who have collaborated in our endeavor have earned sweatEquity, an ownership stake, and they receive dividends. Nothing is in cash yet. We are participating in a reputation economy (google that). Marco Ortega, programmer on Crosser, tells me that people get confused by the lines on his CV detailing the exhibitions. He is earning a PhD in archeology with a concentration in ancient mezo-america. It is still very early and experimental, this thing we are doing.
